Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • The Main Characters: The narrator, the old man The Setting: The old man's dark, quiet house
  • "One of his eyes resembled that of a vulture--a pale blue eye, with a film over it."
  • "And every night, about midnight, I turned the latch of his door and opened it--oh, so gently! And this I did for seven long nights--every night just at midnight"
  • "The old man was dead. I removed the bed and examined the corpse. Yes, he was stone, stone dead. There was no pulsation. He was stone dead. His eye would trouble me no more."
  • The neighbors reported hearing a shriek from his house so the cops had to come check it out. He started to go insane because he killed the old man, and he started to hear a heartbeat, which drove him to telling the cops about what he had done.
  • I think the character got arrested for murdering the old man and taken to jail for several years. He probably wouldn't have got caught if he wouldn't have gone crazy.
