Storyboard Text

  • Hi! I'm Lennie. George and I are going to a new place for work. He says that I got into trouble an' had to leave our old ranch.
  • Loyalty
  • Jump in, Lennie!
  • Of course!
  • EEK!
  • Ain't Bright
  • Your dress is so soft. I just want to pet it like a mouse.
  • "You remember about us going to Murray and Ready's, and they give us work cards and bus tickets?" (Steinbeck 5)
  • Little Guy
  • What do you think you're laughing at?
  • "I've beat the hell outta him, and he coulda bust every bone in my body jus' with his han's, but he never lifted a finger against me." (Steinbeck 40)
  • Tell About The Rabbits
  • This is our dream.
  • "Oh! I ain't saying he's bright. He ain't. But I say he's a God damn good worker." (Steinbeck 22)
  • Good Friend
  • Here, Lennie understands that George would be happier without him, but uses the chance also to bribe George into wanting him to stay.
  •  I could just go if you wanted me to.
  • "Lennie looked helplessly at George, and then he got up and tried to retreat. Curley was balanced and poised. He slashed at Lennie with his left, and then smashed down his nose with his right. Lennie gave a cry of terror. Blood welled from his nose. 'George,' hr cried. 'Make 'um let me alone, George." (Steinbeck 62, 63)
  • "Tell about what we're gonna have in the garden and about the rabbits in the cages and and about the rain in the winter and the stove, and how thick the cream is on the milk like you can hardly cut it." (Steinbeck 14)
  • "If you don't want me, you only jus' got to say so, and I'll go off in those hills right there--right up in those hills and live by myself. An' won't get no mice stole from me." (Steinbeck 13)
