Storyboard Text

  • Those Americans will pay for sending weapons to the French.
  • What are the Americans going to do, they only have 18 war ships, we have 600.
  • We should invade Lower Canada, hold them as ransom to get more respect from the British.
  • Great idea, we shall invade immediately.
  • I´m Tecumseh of the Shawnee Nation. I have a letter which explains the American plans to invade Upper Canada. The letter also has General Hull's greatest fears the First Nations.
  • I'm General Brock. I will declare the Shawnee Nation as a independent nation if you help win against the Americans.
  • The British thought that they could stop the weapons trade between the Americans and the French by putting an embargo on the United States. The British even stole people off the American Ships to send them to Europe to fight for them.  This just added the anti British sentiment that the people in the United States knew very well. The Americans also didn't have a navy that could challenge the British.
  • Before we burn the White House down, I see that they prepared a feast.
  • Let us eat this feast, then burn the city down, starting with the White House.
  • The Americans declared war on Britain on June 18th 1812, thus starting the war. Soon after the declaration, the Americans made surprise attacks on present day Windsor. The Americans attacked from Fort Detroit which was there strongest fort. There plan was to have a 2 front attack onto Lower Canada.
  • There seems to be a storm moving towards the city,  we should leave before we get stuck in Washington.
  • Why do we have to leave now. We haven´t burn´t the city to the ground yet.
  • General Brock was willing to help Tecumseh. This is because Tecumseh had a letter that stated the greatest fears of the American General Hull. His greatest fear was the First Nations because they were considered savages and that scared General Hull. The British and Tecumseh marched on Fort Detroit, and they scared General Hull into surrendering the Fort to the British.
  • You lost the war, we shall keep the original territory that was yours prior to the war.
  • Those are fair terms, we will be willing to make peace on them.
  • The President of the United States at the time, James Madison's wife, Dolley Madison, prepared a feast for her husband to have a late dinner party . Unfortunately for them, the Americans lose the battle, giving the British the pleasure of having a feast once they got to the White House.
  • When the British were sacking the city, a freak tornado came through Washington putting out the fires that were set throughout the city. The tornado did save the city from being burned down, but many government buildings were burned. The Americans believe that the storm was sent from god as a message that they will be the worlds most powerful nation that can do anything.
  • On December 24, 1814, the Treaty of Ghent was signed by the British and American representatives at Ghent, Belgium, ending the War of 1812. By terms of the treaty, all conquered territory was to be returned, and commissions were planned to settle the boundary of the United States and Canada. The British still continued to capture American sailors and recruiting them to be in the Royal Navy.
