Storyboard Text

  • The 14th Amendment was passed by the House of Representatives July 9, 1868
  • I'm here to help what's your problem?
  • Actually, according to the 14th amendment you do.
  • It gave citizenship to any person born in the U.S and equal protection of the law to x-slaves and now freedmen
  • You don't have to help him officer he's black.
  • I love the 14th amendment
  • I do too, I like being treated more equally!
  • African Americans had white people rights and were treated as humans not property
  • North finally got what they hoped for, the blacks to be treated equally and were glad freedmen became citizens just by birth in the U.S
  • Norths thoughts & South thoughts
  • South felt that whites were higher than blacks and that blacks should have to take a test to bcome a citizen
  • Freedmen and their families, if they had any, are now protected by the law and wouldn't be mistreated by whites anymore.
