  • Northern states felt southern slave holding states held too much power already, causing them to oppose the idea of new states being added. They heavily disliked the idea.
  • Southern - Feelings about state additions
  • The northerners supported the idea of expanding to more land above the 36 30 line, where here more state's could be in the north
  • Feeling about 30 36 line
  • Stephen A.Douglas and Millard Fillmore both supported the compromise
  • Who was involved 
  • It made their states keep legal slavery. They believed that the people should decide if they want slavery or not.. They believed it would take away their power.
  • The 36'30' line was a line with one side being slave states and the other being non slave states. anything below the line was a slave state and the southerners were fine with this because they were all located at the bottom of the line.
  • ARRHGGG!!!
  • The people involved in the compromise were Henry Clay from Kentucky  ,Daniel Webster from Massachusetts , And john C.Calhoun from South Carolina.
