This is a large cloud of gas and dust called a nebula. It's oread out in an immense volume
A protostar forms when the clouds and gases gets pulled together. With enough mass it'll form an early age of stars
This is a low mass main sequence star compared to a high mass main sequence star. Our sun is one of them. This is when it splits paths from another type of stars called high mass sequence stars
Whew! It's getting hot in here! Back to the topic, after the low mass main sequence star ends its life, it swells up and turns bigger and forms a red giant. It expands because the star is running out of fuel.
After it expands too much, it explodes and becomes a planetary nebula. It basically turns back into what it started as to form other stars. However, the remaining core glows with the leftover fuel it has. That's called a white dwarf
The white dwarf finally stops glowing and is now called a black dwarf
