"Mr. Sadat, I've just spoken with Minister Begin, he's fairly adamant on holding onto the territories they've gained."
Sadat: "I can't say I'm very surprised, Mr. President. He's been awfully steadfast on his views since we arrived."
He's hesitant to lock in to any specific agreements at this point, and seems concerned with their financial stability following a treaty to return the land.
My visit to Jerusalem also seemed to lack much impact on the situation either, but I want to bring a peaceful resolution as soon as reasonably possible. I'm sure with enough discussion we can solve these issues.
"Perhaps if Israel and its leaders can agree to return the lands they've claimed during the conflict, we can work on both sides to both acknowledge the independence and citizenship they desire and provide them a new channel to stabilize their economy. Possibly with access to the Suez Canal?"
It may be a difficult proposition to accept, but if it can bring us closer to this peace we seek, I'm willing to hear it out.
