A family of 5 people living in the same room in a small apartment and have to share the same bathroom: Mama, Walter, Ruth, Beneatha and Travis. Mama's husband died leaving them back with $10.000 and Walter wanna use it for his liquor store while Beneatha wants it for her medical school and the dream of being a doctor of hers.
The argument between Walter and Beneatha continues to grow while Mama is standing between them who does not have a clue what to do with the money. The fight finally exploded when the check arrived at their house.
Seeing her own children fighting against each other like that, Mom what so heart-broken, she decided to buy a house at Clybourne Park which is the place where the whites can be seen everywhere at every day. Mama's aim was to hope to see Travis growing up in a better environment unlike her children and could finally living in a place called 'home'.
Getting shocked by the news, Walter became frustrated and left the house for 3 days. Mama was so upset she then had to give the rest of the money ($6.500) to him but still, she wanted him to put $3000 in the bank for Beneatha education. Avoiding his mom's words, Walter went on his own with the money and gave it to Willy Harris - a co-partner guy who tends to open a liquor store with him and in the end, Walter got slapped right in the face when Bobo came to tell him that Willy had ran away with the money.
Getting beaten up, Walter finally called Lindner - a white supremacist guy who would buy their house back in a higher price if the Youngers would leave the house. While they were negotiating, Walter thought of the image of his son in the future that had hit him and made him realized that he was selfish so he decided to move into the house.
Li ndners left, they all hugged each other and felt glad they were still harder if they want to survive. The movers came, they are all exited.
