YOUNG OAK FARMS
Cattle shipment & driving wasn't the most profitable thing ; until the Texas Longhorn was introduced. They were drought resistant (could eat prickly cacti), was resistant to common diases, and was very profitable due to lots of bones and its horns.
Cattle was even more profitable after the Civil War (due to low supplies),the demand for beef rised. Cowboys would feed & nature the cattle, drive the cattles north, while keeping a lookout for farmers (the cows trampled their crops and spread diases).
The daily life of a cowboy wasn't a piece of cake..their job was risky, dealing with farmers, and getting little payment, but it all worked out at the end.
