The making of a Social Entrepreneur.

Storyboard Text

  • How it all began
  • No problem, I will give you a chance.
  • I have no skills but I am willing to learn.
  • It all began with a coffee, with the CEO of a local advertising agency.
  • How it grow
  • The turning Point
  • Persistently I applied to organisations as a teenager with only a high school education in a line of business I knew very little about. One day someone decided to take a chance on me. I decided to learn from the stranger and do the same for other girls like me. That became my life mission to mentor and coach adolescents to become more.
  •                                                                      Social Issue
  • I want to be a neurosurgeon and a fashion designer but I dont know how?
  • So I followed my interests and learnt all I could about business and also pushed my passion to share all I learnt with young people. Every where I went I set up internship programs and exposure opportunities. Then I moved from the private sector to working in an NGO, still with a passion to empower and grow young people through opportunities.
  • The Theme: Social Development for Adolescents for future possibilities
  • My son did not do well at school in his fourth primary and the teachers did not have a solution on how best to assist him. This forced me to find out how I could help, discovering that even private schools in our country were limited in education
  • NOW
  • Most adolescents, especially girls were limited in their career choices and futuristic dreams. Like my son they were not confident that they would be able to each their dreams because the school environment did not expose them to social development that would enable this.
  • Lack of social development for adolescent to empower them to reach their DREAMS
  • I was determined to work with organisations and people who wanted to mentor adolescents and help them to develop their social capabilities through social education, career mentoring or anything I could think of that would transform a classroom experience to ensure more reached their dreams.
  • Working with adolescent programming that engages education in schools and trying to design a social enterprise that will provide social exposure for adolescents in school to build their careers and lives.
