4000 years ago the Jewish people looked up to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob their three patriarchs that God chose to be the fathers and the leaders of the chosen Jewish people of God.
Many generations after the patriarchal period Moses was called through the burning bush as the chosen one to lead the Jewish people out of slavery and lead them all to the Promise Land. On their journey Moses got called up Mount Sinai by God for 40 days writing the Ten Commandments which are Gods laws for his people.

Then he led them across the Jordan river where Moses passed away and then Joshua took the lead and led the people to victories over the Canaanites and the Philistines. which then allowed the Jewish people to reclaim their promise land.
Later on through the control of king Saul, David and Solomon the Promise Land of the Jewish people was divided. The 12 tribes were divided into two separate areas 10 in Israel and the 2 in Judah with their own separate kings in control of their land.
Then the Promise Land which was also called Palestine was dominated by the Greek leader Alexander The Great who had a lot of Greek influence on the Jewish people. The Jews wanted their freedom and there was a Jewish Rebellion led by the Zealots
After 100 years of Jewish independence the Romans took over their land which all happened during Jesus' time. So, Jesus lived in a small place with a variety of landscapes and weather. With bread and wine as there most important diet. Also lived in a male dominated society and community with a lot of jobs.
