Rainsford begins the game and runs away from general Zaroff, hoping to create an untraceable path. Rainsford first walks around trying to not get caught. Then he searches for a shelter or a place to stay for the night. He then gets tired and finally finds a huge tree and rests on one of the limbs.
Rainsford laid as still as possible trying to not be found. A little after he found his spot that night he heard sounds coming from the underbrush. As the sound got louder, he could make out the figure of general Zaroff creeping towards him. Zaroff spotts him, but Zaroff doesn't want to stop his adventure so fast, so he decides to not kill Rainsford to keep the game going.
The next day, Rainsford decided to make a trap to try and kill general Zaroff. He made the trap out of a log and it was called a Malay mancatcher, and he is able to bruise the generals shoulder. After the General left to tend to his wound, Rainsford gets stuck in the quicksand but shortly gets himself out. He then creates a Burmese tiger pit trap. He is able to kill one of the generals best dogs with the trap.
On the third day, Rainsford was almost discovered, but then he remembers a trick he learned in Uganda. He decides to put it in play and is able to kill Ivan. He then discovers a cliff to the ocean and dives off the cliff. That night the general goes back to his house and has a good dinner, to celebrate him getting back into the passion of hunting, he also ponders on how he is gonna replace Ivan.
After having his grand dinner, the general returns to his room. He then was surprised to see Rainsford jump out of the closet. After doing so, Rainsford decided to challenge Zaroff to a final duel, to see who is the real winner of The Most Dangerous Game.
After the Duel with General Zaroff, Rainsford sleeps in the best bed he has ever slept in.
