“ Was it the right thing to do?...I’m sure he didn’t mean no harm… it was an accident, i'm sure of it.”
"Why'd you do this to me George?"
"No I would never!"
A couple of the men are having a conversation on what had happened to Lennie while George walks to his bed slowly. He can't stop thinking about what he did to Lennie.
"Who killed your wife?'
"Lennie. And I'm sure his friend George had something to do with it!"
After staying up for hours debating whether or not it was the right thing to do, George begins to fall asleep.
In his dream, their on their newly bought farm and Lennie goes to tend the rabbits while George is working. George hears Lennie crying so he runs to him and sees Lennie carrying Curley's leads wife. He closes his eyes and hears a gunshot. When he opens his eyes he sees Lennie on the floor with a gunshot wound in his head.
The police comes by to ask some question about Curley's wife dying. Curley says not only did Lennie have something to do with it, but George had something to do with it as well. They both decide to go look for George to talk to him.
George finds out about the police coming so he decides to tun away. He packs all his belongings, breaks the back window, and squeezes through.
George is sad about what he did to Lennie and no longer wants to live so he tries to shoot himself in the head but he doesn't have the strength to do it so he puts the gun down. He decides he wants to live and work hard to buy his own farm in honor of Lennie.
