Israel once controlled Jeerulalem and allowed Christians to make a pilgramage to Jersulem. Then the Turks take over and they wont let the Christians make a pillgramage to Jerusalem.

The Turks conquered Jerusalem and they wouldn't let the Christians take a pilgramage so they sent out a crusade to take back Jeruslem and they count the first crusade as a success.
The second Crusade began because Muslims counter attack and conquer Edess which is a (christian state). Christains fail to treat Muslims with respect and are cruel to them so theyre unable to gain support to defend Jerusalem. They count the second crusade as a failure.
The third Crusade was orginized by the rulers of England, France, and Germany. They called it the Crusade of the kings. The kings signed a truce to end third Crusade. Then Christians were free to travel to Jerusalem. They count the Third Cruasade as a failure because Muslims still had control of Jerusalem.
The Fourth Crusade was a total failure for the pope that launched the Crusade. Crusaders attacked Constatinople. They smashed Christian Icons and attacked women.
Crusaders brought Western Europeans into contact with Byzatines and Muslims. They brought new knowledge like domes, more accurite maps, and better use of the compass. They learned about spises, sugars,silk, and lemons. Kings were able to build stronger controlled goverments.
