I started my rebellion in 1786. My hopes were to have us farmers join together to stop the unfair justice of economic depression and high taxes.
I joined the rebellion to stop high taxes burdening all of us poor farmers. I have a family AND a farm to take care of.
I'm protesting because I want well-deserved protective legislation.
I'm protesting because I believe that taxes should be levied.
I am joining Shays to stop the government from taking advantage of the poor.
I, the amazing James Bowdoin, have stopped Shays' weak militia with my well-trained army. No one will tell me how this country will be run.
Shay's rebellion has shown us the faults in our government. We voters voted against Bowdoin in the next election to stop his tyrannical ways and high taxes.
Thanks to Shays rebellion, I have seen the faults in the Articles and our country's government. This encouraged me to draft the Constitution.
