this is an assignment for math ahhahahahha
Our problem is 5(1+4m)=1/2(10+20m)
First we need to distribute through the parenthesis, once that is done we should have 5+20m=5+10m
Next we need to combine the like terms in the problem
Next, we must undo the addition/subtraction, by doing this it will get your problem to 20m=10m, because the fives were subtracted.
Now that we have 20m=10m, we need to get the variable down, so we will divide, however this problem is wacky, the only thing the variable can equal is 0. So m=0
A common mistake would be made when verifying, make sure to always plug back in the answer you got and incorporate it into the equation.
So the problem then becomes 5(1+4(0))=1/2(10+20(0)), we distribute and it becomes 5+0=5+0, 5=5 therefore our answer is correct.
