Storyboard Text

  • I'm sorry for hitting you, Mr. P.
  • I forgive you. You know teachers were taught to do that? We used to hit the rowdy children, destroy the Indian culture in them, make them give up being Indian. It was bad, it was wrong.
  • MR. P
  • I promise not to repeat it.
  • You're the smartest child in the school, and I don't want you to fail. Your friend, Rowdy is just going to get meaner and meaner. I want to tell you something, but promise to never repeat it.
  • You need to leave this reservation, and never come back. Go somewhere else, as far as possible. Find hope. Don't give up.
  • I want to transfer schools to Reardan, where the white people are, where there is most hope. I want to leave now.
  • Going to Reardan will be difficult, you're the first one to leave this way. The Indians are going to be mad at you.
  • Can I tell you a secret?
  • I'm moving to Reardan, and I want you to come with me.
  • Rowdy does not like Reardan as their team always loses to Reardan's in school competitions.
  • That's not funny, stop saying that. I'm getting angry. What makes you think I want to go, anyways?
  • Alright then, tell me.
  • Rowdy, I'm going to Reardan tomorrow. I'm going.
  • No, you won't. You're too afraid. You're a coward.
  • Rowdy, I'm sorry. I'll die if I stay. You can come with me! You're my best friend.
  • Don't touch me, you idiot!
  • Rowdy punches Junior and screams repeatedly.
