  • If a train is approaching, ALWAYS STOP. Trains have the right of way. 
  • If the red lights are flashing and the crossing arms are down, you must stop and wait until the train passes and the gates are lifted
  • X
  • Never stop on train tracks. If you stall, get out of your car and push your vehicle to the side. 
  • If a train is incoming, and your car is stuck on the tracks, get out and run in the direction of the train to avoid debris
  • Most railroad crossings use lights and sounds, so watch for those and turn down your radio or music when near a crossing
  • If you follow these rules, you can prevent a major accident on the tracks
