One senator, Senator Augustus, was on neither side. He chose to ask for a separate vote from the people before voting himself. Despite his honorable remarks, Ophelia was suspicious of him but chose to let him have it his way for now. Besides, they still had a year before the election, and she often preached about democracy.
Three months after their meeting with the senate, the family doctor announced that Ophelia was pregnant and was due in March, which was when the elections were. This worried Ophelia but she did not want to disturb such an important event because of her own maternal wants.
Word of Ophelia's pregnancy spread, and the senators (even Senator Augustus) congratulated Silenius on his heir, not all congratulated Ophelia though. Nevertheless, Ophelia was satisfied as she felt that her suspicions of Augustus had been misplaced after all.
On the day of the vote, Ophelia was feeling uneasy. Mainly because she was worried for the baby. However, she was convinced the voting would go smoothly and she would get to rest
However, as Senator Domitius was beginning his speech, he began choking and coughing up blood, amongst the mess, Senator Augustus cried 'Tyrant' and pointed at the queen. The crowd outside could be heard chanting the same.
The doors finally burst open and a mob of angry citizens who appeared possessed at first glance swarms the halls and chased down the King and Queen.
