  • Stage 0: Acceptance
  • Stage 1: Complaining

  • In 1948, a National Party had that original Dutch settlers came to power. The government had reached out for a apartheid that made people form "apartness" That made people stay separted from the othher races that lived in south Africa.
  • Stage 3: Revolution
  • Apartheids laws put many restrictions on non-whites so they started to complain. Africans and non-whites couldn't vote, they couldn't integrate, and the marriage between the races was illegal. Whites had the best land, and the non-whites couldnt particpate in national government.
  • Stage 4: Recovery
  • People all over the world protested that Mandela shall be relesed from prison. Many races protested that the new constitution was still like the old and they want a change.
  • On march 21, 1960 at Sharpeville cops open fire on people protesting outside etheir station. The governement was not happy what he was seeing or hearing so he stop it with violence. 69 people were killed and ma huert badly. After this had occured the ANC and PAC started protesting against south africa. Later Nelson Mandela was arrested in 1962. This was very sad for people.
  • In 1960 de Klerk was elected president. He saw that what the white people were doing could have started a civil war revolution. Later he released Nelson Mandela because he has a figure for black racial power. de klerk and Nelson Mandela made a plan to change south Africa's government.
