This was important cell because it is the first time Jonas saw colour and he was confused when he saw colour and he said "Ash? he called. does anything seem strange to you? about the apple" to Asher. Later in the book this becomes a big part in him getting his job as the receiver of memories.

This is probably the most important scene in the book because the whole first half of the book builds up to this moment. I put red cheeks on the crowd because Jonas said "I could see the faces turn red" when he was seated with the other 12s.

As each 12 gets their folders with their rules and job information, Jonas only gets a small folder with only 8 rules. Most of the rules Jonas Agreed with but rule 8 Jonas disagreed with, not to lie. This has a importance because this is one of the most important part of the community and without the receiver of memories the history will be forgotten. The receiver was so important it had better furniture and it had thousands of books while the dwellings had only a few books"the books in his own dwelling were the only books that Jonas hd ever seen"
This has great importance because it is the first time Jonas receives a memory. The memory is of someone going down hill on a sledge, Jonas has not seen this because the ground is flat and because of climate control "our people made a choice, to choice to go to sameness"
