I was very pleasantly surprised to see aerospace engineer show up as one of the occupations that matched my quiz results. While I am not as passionate about aerospace as I am about cars or computers, it is still most certainly one of my areas of interest.
Just this summer, I took the Basic Aviation Technology and Aerospace Course that my air cadet squadron offered. During the course, we were given the opportunity to tour multiple aviation facilities, from 443 Maritime Helicopter Squadron to an airplane repair shop. I was also given the opportunity to build and launch a model rocket. The course really opened my eyes to the possibilities in the aviation industry and strengthened my interest in this field.
According to the ESDC website, the abilities most beneficial to an aerospace engineer are general learning ability, verbal ability, numerical ability, spatial perception, and form perception. General learning ability, numerical ability, and form perception were my three highest scores so I should be a good fit. I have experience too, in the form of 54 hours playing Kerbal Space Program
