A parish clerk, named Absalon also fancied the carpenter's wife when he saw her for the first time. He would see her at times and ask for her love, but she would always ignore him.
One day while he was walking by, Absalon saw Allison nearby and asks her for a kiss, hoping that she will fall for him. Be it is dark he isn't aware that Allison sticks out her bum instead of her face. Angry, Absalon leaves.
Still angry, Absalon visits his friend Grevase, who is a blacksmith. He sees him using a hot coulter and returns to Allisons house. When he asked for another kissshe responds, this time Nicholas sticks his bum out and farts in his face. He immediately stabs him with the coulter.
Screaming and crying in pain, Nicholas drew out all the neighbors, and the carpenter to see what the commotion was. Allison and Nicholas ran to the streets yelling that there was a murderer and that the carpenter was to blame. The crowd didn't believe them, and laughed at them.
