  • Was the first military engagement of the Texas revolution. Was fought near Gonzales,Texas on October 2,1835,between Texas settlers and part of the Mexican army. The picture above demonstrates the flag the Texans flew before the battle started.
  • Goliad Massacre
  • The Consultation served as a government for Mexican Texas during the Texas revolution. In the summer,Texas elected delegates to a political convention.But then The Battle of Gonzales happened. The consultation was postponed to a couple weeks later. At the event,Texas proposed to have their own government. The picture above represents the consultation.
  • Battle of San Jacinto
  • Santa Anna and his troops surrounded the Alamo on February 23,1836. The Mexican troops started bombarding the Alamo. By the end of the fight,almost everyone at the Alamo was shot dead and 600 Mexicans were killed. The picture above represents the Texan soldiers fighting on in the Alamo our to the Mexicans.
  • The Treaties of Velasco
  • The Goliad Massacre happened on March 7,1836 in Goliad,Texas. 425-445 prisoners of war from the Texan army were killed from order of Santa Anna. One of these people were Colonel James Fannin. The massacre was carried out by José Nicolás de la Portilla. The picture above represents the massacre taking place.
  • Was fought on April 21,1836 in present-day Harris County. It was the decisive battle of the Texas revolution. Led by Sam houston,the Texan army defeated the Mexican troops in a battle that lasted 18 minutes. After the battle,the Texans were able to capture General Santa Anna. The picture above represents where the battle took place.
  • The treaties of Velasco were two documents signed by Santa Anna of Mexico and The Republic of Texas in the aftermath of the Battle of San Jacinto on May 4,1836.Texas made Santa Anna sign it to save his life hence they had him captured. It was made for Texas to become independent. The picture above represents Santa Anna signing one of the treaties.
