Egypt's Impact on the Kushites
The Fall of Kush
Royal Kushite women were often co-rulers of their husbands or sons. Some powerful women even ruled Kush on their own.
After conquering Egypt, The Kushites began to wrap the dead like mummies and bury them in Egyptian-style coffins. they also built Egyptian- style temples and pyramids.
Egyptian invaders attacked Kush in 593 BC. and destroyed its capital, Napata.
The Kushites used farming tools such as plows, hoes, and sickles.
By A.D. 350, Aksum was the most important kingdom in the northeast Africa.
Aksum became the first African Kingdom to mint it own coins.
