The plague started in Central Asia in 1338
It was carried by fleas living on rats and then jumped on and bit the humans when the rats died
The Mongols got angry at Italian merchants at Caffa so catapulted dead, infected bodies over the walls
The merchants tried to escape the disease and went on a boat to Cilcile.
But when they arrived in Cicile they were infected because of the rats which jumped off into the town and brought the disease into Europe
The plague continued to rage throughout Europe for hundreds of years and caused over 100 million people!!
