Storyboard Text

  • Paris and his Page enter the act as they head to the Capulet's Tomb
  • Paris is telling his Page to stand watch from outside the tomb, and whistle if he sees anybody come towards the Capulet's tomb.
  • "But thou shalt hear it. Whistle then to me as a signal that thou hearest something approach."
  • County Paris has come to mourn Juliet outside her family tomb by bringing flowers.
  • "Sweet flower, with flowers thy bridal bed I strew. Which with sweet water nightly I will dew..."
  • Paris' Page has caught sight of Romeo and Balthasar heading towards the tomb and has whistled to notify Paris.
  • *whistles*
  • Paris is hiding from Romeo and Balthasar. Romeo makes Balthasar promise that he will not come looking for him. Romeo pays Balthasar to ensure his promise will be upheld.
  • "So shalt thou show me friendship. Take thou that. [Giving money] Live and be prosperous, and farewell, good fellow."
  • "The time and my intents are savage-wild, more fierce and more inexorable far than empty tigers or roaring sea."
  • "I will be gone, sir, and not trouble you."
  • As soon as Balthasar leaves Romeo is determined to get into the tomb to see Juliet.
  • "Thou detestable maw, thou womb of death, gorged with the dearest morsel of the earth. Thus I enforce thy rotten jaws to open, and in despite I'll cram thee with more food."
