Storyboard Text

  • Hi, Welcome to your first tutoring lesson..... on Matter.
  • So lets start off with the basic stuff. An element is when all atoms have the same identity. Down below is the Periodic Table of elements. This chart shows all the elements we have now!
  • Elements make up EVERYTHING (there atoms so of course they do).  Name it, Element has it covered (Literally). Now next topic Compounds: When two or more elements make a fixed proportion.  For example H20 is an compound because its made up of Oxygen and Hydrogen.
  • So you got that down, well now its a bigger topic... Mixtures ( Dun Dun Dunn). Mixture: Any material of 2 or more substances that can be physically separated. There are 2 different types of mixtures: Heterogeneous and Homogeneous. Heterogeneous mixture is a mixture in which different materials can be distinguished easily. Examples a bowl of cereal, or a bake of Chex mix .
