-The first Punic war was between 264 BCE and 341 BCE. -It was between 2 city/states in Sicily. The Romans have a stronger army but the Carthaginians have a stronger Navy. The Romans build up their army and were able to defeat the Carthaginians and took control of Sicily. -Rome made the Carthaginians pay damages and it was very costly to Carthage.
-The second Punic war was between 218 BCE and 201 BCE. -General Hannibal attacked the Romans from the north but they did not have enough reinforcements to take over the Romans. -The Romas defeated them at Zama and took control over the Iberian peninsula. -Hannibal was forced to retreat and return to defend his homeland.
-The third Punic war was between 149 BCE and 146 BCE. -The Romans were scared because Carthage was rebuilding and decided to defeat them for good. -The Romans told Carthage to move their city and knew they couldn't so they used it as a reason to attack them. The Romans defeated them and burned to city to make sure they would never attempt to fight the Romans. The Romans basically had control over the entire Mediterranian.
