Introducing and giving details about a character (George) from the novella.
Of Mice and Men
Hi, my name is George. I am living in the 1900's and I travel around with my friend Lennie.
"'The hell's this?' This is where we will be staying?" Steinbeck (18)
"Your Aunt Clara was a nice lady."
George can be nice at some points but when he gets mad he can get an attitude. "George took the mouse and threw it across the pool to the other side, among the brush." This shows you how George can get mad with Lennie and loose his cool.
"You always kill em' Lennie!"
George tries to come off as intimidating so he tries to be cool and big to let off the intimidating impression. "'Say. What the hell's this?'" This shows that George is trying to let off the mean vibe.
The American Dream
I want a farm with rabbits and to live a long, happy life.
George made a promise a while ago to Lennie's Aunt Clara that he would take care of Lennie and not let him die. "' That was your own Aunt Clara. An' she stopped givin' 'em to ya.'" (Steinbeck 9)
I know I can be mean and harsh, but I know that sometimes I could be kind and can show compassion for another.
"'To hell with the rabbits. An' you ain't trusted with no live mice.'" (Steinbeck 9)
"'I could eat any place I want, hotel or any place, and order any order any damn thing I could think of.'" (Steinbeck 11)
