Storyboard Text

  • What were some of the symptoms you experienced when you had Pneumonia?
  • Hey Kaleb, why weren't you at school last week?
  • When I was sick, I had a cough that produced green and yellow mucus, fatigue, and rapid shallow breathing but, there are other symptoms like sharps pains in the chest, chills, shaking, loss of appetite, and shortness of breath.
  • I had Viral pneumonia after getting the flu and, I had to stay home until I recovered.
  • So what causes viral pneumonia and how ist it spread?
  • So what can I do to help prevent myself and others from getting pneumonia besides getting my flu shot?
  • There isn't an official cause of viral pneumonia but, it's common to get it as a complication of the flu so, a great way to help prevent getting it is getting your flu shot every year. Pneumonia is also airborne and is spread through droplets in the air or fluids after someone coughs or sneezes.
  • The best way to help prevent pneumonia is by living a healthy lifestyle, practicing good hygiene, avoiding people that are sick, and not smoking.
  • So what treatments do doctors use for people infected with viral pneumonia?
  • So do have any interesting facts about viral pneumonia?
  • Doctors will usually prescribe antiviral drugs to people with viral pneumonia since there isn't anything else they can do because there isn't an official cause for viral pneumonia.
  • Two of the most interesting facts about pneumonia, in my opinion, are that the germs that cause pneumonia often live in your body, and there are three types of pneumonia fungal, bacterial, and viral pneumonia.
