As Mr.Webb mows his lawn a single light will follow him back and forth. His thoughts are read aloud to the audience so they are on the right track of what he is thinking.
Light the whole set equally because of how much movement will be happening. When Mrs.Forrest says "Go out and play in the fields, young man" light her in red.
Mrs.Webb and Emily String peas and talk. The light will focus on them and there conversation. When the Stage manager enters a light will follow him and the ladies light will fade as they leave.
When this scene starts have to separate lights for George and Dr. Gibbs. Although standing close keep them separate until George understands what Dr.Gibbs means. When he does then join both lights and illuminate them both as one.
As Dr.Gibbs and Mrs.Gibbs argue back and forth direct the light at the one that is talking.
