  • Hey Nicki!
  • Hey Brianna!
  • Aren't you so excited to do The Great Migration Project!?
  • Well actually I don't know very much about The Great Migration
  • Now let's get down to business!
  • That's okay! I'll help you with it!
  • Oh my goodness! Thank you so,so,so much!
  • I can't believe I lost another job!
  • How are we supposed to make money now?
  • Ugh no more food at home
  • That's too bad but we don't have any either
  • Were all tired, everyone on this boat is tired. We don't even know how much longer
  • We've been on this boat for the longest time. When will it be over
  • I just want to get there already
  • It started in 1815. People left Britain for economic reasons. They were losing there jobs and being replaced by robots. Many lost there livelihood due to the Industrial Revolution and many lost there farms as large landowners bought small farms.
  •  To make matters worse a famine had hit Ireland forcing more people to leave as well.
  • At this time cruises were taking people to British north America(which is Canada today) but the ride was long and terrible. Britain actually encouraged emigration as a way to relieve its economic troubles, and to reinforce loyalty to Britain in its colonies.
