The opening scene is set in 1940's London. The main character Charlie is on his way to the recruitment office when he meets his old friend Henry at the bus stop.
The dialogue is interrupted by the diegetic sound of airplanes flying through the sky. The dialogue then returns with Henry saying "whats going on, Charlie" to which Charley replies with "I'm not sure but they weren't ours, somethings up".
In this shot the two protagonists looking over the London skyline, they see the bombs drop on the local landmarks and hear screams and destruction.
Charlie gets into an army vehicle and is separated form Henry, he says "stay safe Henry, this will be all over before you know it".
Charlie is in the plane chasing down the enemy, the scene is played alongside a soundtrack of classical music. Charlie makes the enemy flee as the soundtrack comes to an end.
The final scene shows Henry sitting next to the grave of Charlie in the future. The scene is played over violins. The writing on the tombstone says, "Charlie Harold, savior of London and beloved friend 1918-1940"
