  • I have a plan. Pay off war debts, raise government revenue, and create a national bank.
  • Oh Whatever!!!
  •                  Whiskey Rebellion
  • But they taxed whiskey.
  • Well sorry we need money for America.
  • Sir you can't do this, the government will show you who's boss.
  • The French Revolution
  • Oh Whatever!!!
  • Well thought George. Thanks for your time
  • I have decided not to join the war.
  • George Washington is trying to set a precedent from the country but needs help from Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson. Hamilton came up with a three step plan. Pay off war debts, raise government revenue, and create a national bank. Jefferson disagrees with this plan because it’s unconstitutional. This shows that the government should be able to set new laws if needed.
  • Washington and Hamilton decided to tax whiskey to gain revenue. The farmers grew furious so they rebelled. Hamilton got the U.S. army and they proved that the government could keep order. The government had to do something about the rebellion to prove that they could keep order throughout the U.S.
  • The French Revolution began and the French could use America’s help. Hamilton thought that we had nothing to gain but a lot to lose by involving ourselves in this. Jefferson differed. He thought that since they helped us, we should help them. We mainly didn’t help because of what we could’ve lost a lot by helping so instead we kept neutrality.
