  • In this scene, Scrooge's nephew is telling Scrooge to be happy. But Scrooge keeps refusing. This Indirectly characterizes Scrooge as grumpy because doesn't want to be happy, and it does not say he is grumpy.

  • The Ghost of Christmas Past had a bright light on his head. This symbolizes showing Scrooge a way to his past.

  • If they would rather die, they had better do it, and decrease the surplus population

  • Scrooge does not care what happens to others, even if they die he wont help unless it benefits him. This indirectly characterizes him a cruel because only uncaring and cruel people would say that.
  • Al the food symbolizes that scrooge has a lot of money, and that he should use it to help, just like how the spirit uses his food and torch to help people during Christmas.
