  • Ha, banishment? Be merciful, say "death,"
  • Mercutio is killed by Tybalt. Romeo is saddened by the fact that his best friend was killed. He then challenges Tybalt to a duel and kills him. The prince sentences Romeo to be banished from Verona.
  • Act 3 Scene 4
  • Commend me to your daughter.
  • The Nurse is grieving Tybalt's death, and Juliet is worrying that Romeo is the one that died. She finds out that Romeo killed him, she gets mad at him, and realizes that she should not be mad at Romeo.
  • Act 3 Scene 5
  • I tell thee what: get thee to the church o' Thursday, or never after look me in the face.
  • Friar Lawrence tells Romeo that his punishment is not death and he is being banished from Verona instead. He is saddened by this news and says that death would be the better option.
  • Paris asks once again about marrying Juliet. Capulet says yes, and they will be married in three days.
  • Juliet is told by her mother that she is marrying Paris. She gets extremely upset and her father threatens to disown her if she doesn't. The Nurse gives her advice to forget Romeo and just marry Paris.
