  • A riffle box to you is what we call a batea. It is made of wood and traps gold once collected.
  • Mexicanos taught Americans how to sift gold using mining pans and riffle boxes
  • Mexicanos taught Americans how to raise sheep and cattle. They also taught them how to brand the cattle
  • Americans adopted many Mexicano things including the American cowboy. Everything was the same or similar to what Mexican cowboys wore including the gear
  • With the Mecicanos came many new crops. Such as corn and fruits. Mexicanos taught Americans how to plant and grow these crops.
  • Mexicano architecture was also adopted. Americans started using Adobe to build structures because it was better for the year round weather
  • Fiestas and holidays, such as Cinco de Mayo, were also celebrated by Americans
