  • "Aw, you didn’t write that!"
  • I think the sun is a flower,That blooms for just one hour.
  • Teacher, do you believe the sun will come out? Do you really?
  • It was always raining there on Venus, it never stopped, lightning, thunder, tornadoes, except for that one day.
  • I thought so
  • "You’re lying, you don’t remember !"
  • "It’s like a penny,"
  • People were sent to Venus to see if it was sustainable to go and build settlements. They figured out that it rain, storms and such for seven years straight, so people are sent there to test living there. Margot was sent to Venus when she was four, so she misses the sun more than anyone else, but the kids dont agree.
  • "Yes !"
  • "Are we all here ?"
  • Every seven years, the rain stops, thunder quiets, and the planet relaxes for one hour only. The kids are very excited, but Margot waits, and waits and cant wait any longer. But she's having trouble with her classmates.
  • "Oh. Oh."
  • "Oh, look, look,"
  • Margot had a hidden box filled with a box, a butterfly, flower, and drawing of the sun. She shared this with her only friend in the building and described the sun to her. Then the kids had to go and get their sun boxes.( sorry, this part i forgot wasn't from the book but the movie)
  • "She’s still in the closet where we locked her."
  • Then the other students stole her sun box! She ran after them as fast as she could, and soon caught up with them and they locked her in the supply closet. But then forgot about her when they heard the rain stop.
  • The kids went out and saw that the sun was out! They went out and played and awed at how beautiful the sun was, and ran and never stopped running, playing and laughing ... until one of them felt a raindrop on their hand.
  • Right when they returned from their hour of play, one of the girls remembered that Margot was still in the supply closet. They all walked down to the room and let Margot out. And they never stopped apologizing.
  • "Margot."
