THE STORY OF THE MAN THAT ESCAPED FROM ISREAL’S CAMP
MEMORY VERSE: Mark 4:24 And he said unto them, take heed what ye hear.
Davidasked him, from where have you come? · David said unto him, how was the matter?
David was in Ziglak for two days after the death of King Saul
And he answered I escaped from the camp of the Israelites
A man came from the camp out of the camp from King Saul with his cloth torn and earth upon his head end he fell before David
He said by Mount Gilboa, he saw “Saul leaned upon his spear and lo, the chariot and horsemen followed hard after him, he (Saul) asked me to slay him for anguish is come upon him.
He said, Saul and Jonathan his son are dead
So he stoop upon him and slew him, took the crown upon his head and the bracelet that was on his arm and brought it to King David.
David asked him, how did you know that Saul and Jonathan are dead?
Hearing this news, David rent his clothes and all the men that are with him and they mourn for soul and Jonathan and the people of the Lord and the house of Israel for they are fallen by the sword
And David called one of the young men and said Go near and fall upon him and he smote him that he died
David said, your blood be upon your head for “your mouth has testified against you saying, I have slain the Lord’s anointed
LESSON TO LEARN: A child of God should not be part of evil news, must not carry or hear evil news, but always carry good news of the gospel of Christ. From the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, evil words will come from evil heart.
