Storyboard Text

  • It's a Monday! You should all be at work!
  • Beware the Ides of March!
  • What did you say? Ah, you're a dreamer.
  • Brutus can you see yourself?
  • Since no mirror can reveal your worthiness to yourself, I'll be your mirror so that you can learn how important you are.
  • What is that shouting all about? I do fear that the people wish to make Caesar their king!
  • Okay...
  • No.
  • Rabble, rabble, rabble!
  • So you don't want Caesar to be king? And why should you? Caesar is no better than you!
  • Act 1 Scene 1: Somewhere in Rome Julius Caesar returns home victorious. the people all rejoice, while the tribunes, Murellus and Flavius, try to get everyone back to work.
  • Act 1 Scene 2: Somewhere in Rome As Julius Caesar is celebrating, he is stopped in the streets by a Soothsayer. The Soothsayer warns him to "Beware the Ides of March." Julius Caesar ignores his warning.
  • Antony offered Caesar a kingly crown three times and each time Caesar refused. But for each time, I think he really would have rather had it.
  • I'm going to make Brutus think that the public wants him to be their leader.
  • I've walked the storm. The gods warn that Julius Caesar shouldn't be in power.
  • Act 1 Scene 2: Somewhere in Rome After everyone leaves, Marcus Brutus is left alone to brood until Caius Cassius comes along and tries to lift his spirits.
  • The world is ending! The sights I have seen!
  • Act 1 Scene 2: Somewhere in Rome Cassius declares that Brutus is unable to see what everyone else does, namely that Brutus is widely respected. Compared to Caesar, Cassius says, Brutus would make a much better leader.
  • Look there Antony. That Cassius has a lean and hungry look. He can't be trusted. He reads too much.
  • Act 1 Scene 2: Somewhere in Rome As Cassius compares Brutus and Caesar, 3 sets of shouts can be heard from the crowd. Finally Caesar and Antony return and Caesar makes a comment to Antony about being suspicious of Cassius.
  • Act 1 Scene 3: Somewhere in Rome Strange events happening on the eve of March 15th makes many people believe that something was going to happen. Cassius uses this time to convince others to join his cause.
