  • Patient care starts in the hospital, and recently our facility where I work at, had decrease patient satisfaction with physician followup and plan of care for the day. For this reason, Interdisciplinary rounds were created.

  • From quarter to quarter patient satisfaction is reviewed and as you can see this quarter it decreased from last quarter. This indicated a change needed to be made.
  • Patient Outcomes
  • Patient satisfaction 75% to 98%
  • Each patient in the intensive care unit will be reviewed and the doctors will followup on any patient concerns as well as with family.
  • Patiet Rounds: The whole team is involved in discussing patient care, plan, orders, answer any questions patient/nurse may have, and discuss overall goals. The team consists of nurse, doctors, therapy, respiratory therapist, and patient and family.
  • Patient satisfaction increased due to interdisciplinary team rounds. Numbers were evidence of positive results from new approach to involve family and patients in plan of care.
