Declaration of Independence On July 4,1776 our forefathers signed what was called The Declaration of Independence. This important document was signed in Philadelphia by many. This document gave us our freedom from Britain in the colonies.
Sugar Act This law made on April 5,1764 made colonists pay a tax on sugar. The main purpose of this tax was to pay for the price of soldiers. This law just made an everyday colonist pay another tax on another item.
Quartering Act This law that was passed on May 3,1765 made colonists allow soldiers in their homes for however long was needed. Soldiers needed a place to stay while in the colonies so the only solution for this problem was the Quartering Act. Many colonists thought that this was very unfair.
