Welcome to my Greek mythology website. Here, you can discover how Greek Mythology has affected modern times and a little more about the Greek Goddess Artemis.
So, why were Greek myths created in the first place?
Myths generally teach youths valuable lessons in life. For the Greeks, this included things like good behavior is rewarded while bad is punished. Also, to not anger the Gods.
Myths soon became the way that everyone taught valuable lessons. One was more likely to follow the lessons taught by the myths they heard as a child and lived by all their life, instead of just being told to do it.
Mythology was also a way for the Greeks to explain the world around them.
A great number of things have been explained by the Greek's stories. From how spiders came to be, to why there is famine and disease in the world, and even little things such as how fire came to the world. Almost everything in the world can be explained by some Greek myth.
