Go and find the Grey Women. They will have the tools you need to defeat Medusa.
Perseus, being a poor fisherman, was not able to buy a gift for Polydectus when he was getting married. Polydectus forgave Perseus and gave him a quest. If he was to slay Medusa and bring back her head then he would receive the "perfect gift."

Perseus meets up with Hermes and Athena after accepting the challenge. They give him some advice and wish him the best of luck. They say that the Grey Women will have what he needs to defeat Medusa.
Perseus, after meeting with Athena and Hermes, walks through the cavernous cave. He is on his way to find the Grey Women for advice as to how to slay Medusa. He is wondering as to how he will manage to defeat the gorgon.
After wandering, Perseus comes across the two gods once again. Athena gives him a magical hat. Hermes gives him a magic wallet and a shield. After their final encounter he departs to go and find the Grey Women.
