One day, king Polydectes saw a beautiful woman named Danae, and instantly fell in love.
You will go to the lair of Medusa and bring me back her head!
But he did not like her son Perseus, so he sent him on a fateful task.
Perseus didn't know what to do, but he got help from the gods, who gave him a sword to kill her with, a net for her head, a helmet of invisibility, winged sandals so that he could fly, and a polished shield so he could see her without turning to stone.
Perseus didn't know where to find Medusa, so he went to the cave of the aged ones, 3 old ladies who knew her location. They all shared 1 eye and 1 tooth, so he took the eye while wearing his cap of invisibility and wouldn't give it back until theye revealed Medusa's location.
So Perseus went to Medusa and found her asleep. So he used the polished shield so he didn't look at her directly, and chopped off her head and flew off before her sisters could catch him.
Perseus brought back the head and showed it to Polydectes who immediately turned to stone.
