  • At the Beginning of this poem Highway Man came riding to the Old inn Door 
  • Repetition- The highway man came riding to the old inn door
  • Next in the Old inn door Bess is waiting for the Highway man 
  • Personification-He whistled a tune to the window
  •  After-Tim the ostler that also liked Bess told on Bess  about the highway man
  •  Metaphor-His eyes hollow of Madness
  •  It suggest that the highway man is riding to the old inn door
  •  The troops came in to Bess and tied her to wait for the highway
  • He whistles and Bess can hear it through the window
  • Bess Kills herself to warn him and when he hears  it runs away the comes back for revenge
  • He gets Mad
  • The highway man gets shot by the troops
  • Personification-Death at every window
