This scene with the multiple emails shows that Connor and Evan were very good friends and that they talked often because what they said would be something that you would tell a very close friends.

In this scene, Heidi is telling Evan that this big lie will all be very little and it wont affect him later in life but Evan is hesitant and doesn't believe that its true. This shows the theme of Life Moves On because this lie will fade away and just be something of the past like Heidi is saying.
In this scene, Evan is at the Orchard a year later and is saying that maybe one day, another kid will come here and start climbing, but he will keep going through all the bad to see the spotlight at the top. This scene shows the theme of Life Moves On because Evan is here now, in terms with what he has done and he is okay with who he is, after everything that has happened.
In this scene, Evan is asking his mom if another truck is coming to take her away just like his dad did because his dad moved out.
