For my presentation I will be giving you a better understanding of tumor suppressor protein p53. Tp53 is a gene that codes for a protein that regulates the cell cycle and promotes apotosis. Does anyone know what apoptosis means?
I wonder whats for lunch today?
Apoptosis is cell death
Great job Vanessa! Apoptosis is just one of the many sequence specific transcription factors that destroy mutant cells. p53 is located on the 17th chromosome, and was discovered 1979. These gene is a phosphoprotein made of 393 amino acids. p53 is also directly related to DNA repair. Looks like we are out of time... I hope I answered all of your questions of p53.
