  • The Three G's
  • The Mississippian Indians were the first to encounter the Europeans. Their culture involved farming and religion. They had large villages with social classes and thousands of families.
  • English Colonization
  • When the first Europeans came, led by Hernando De Soto, they killed thousands of Native Americans due to advanced weapons, diseases, and the psychological advantage of fear. They wanted to find gold and they killed anything in their path. They went through Georgia along there way and ended in the Mississippi RIver
  • Successful Factors
  • Explorers came to the New World for 3 things in peticular Gold, God, and Glory. They thought natives had Gold but it was from sunken European ships from before. They forced the natives to be baptised or they would be killed. The Europeans wanted to claim as much land for their home country as possible.
  • Geogia's Result
  • When England came to the New World, they settled along the Atlantic coastline. They became successful from cash crops like tobacco which was exported to sell in England.
  • A successful colony was full of indentured servents that worked on the land to make the tobacco crop. The area was good it was just right for the crop and the cash crop boomed. The area wasn't good because it was full of mosquitos but they got rid of it.
  • Georgia became a buffer country. It allowed for a place so that France, Spain, and England would not attack each other and there would be peace.
